Café Brisa Serena--Lebudu Kraik
Café Brisa Serena--Lebudu Kraik
Café Brisa Serena is back. We’ve offered coffee from this co-op since our first year of operation. This particular lot comes from 10 producers in the village of Ducurai, Ermera municipality, located within Timor-Leste’s highest peak, Tatamailau.
Café Brisa Serena is a social enterprise formed in 2010 in collaboration with the NGO Peace Winds Japan. PWJ had begun its work redeveloping Timor-Leste’s coffee-growing areas not long after the country’s formal independence in 2002.
CBS continues the work begun by PWJ to promote Timor’s specialty coffee by developing an exporting channel and running a cafe in the capital Dili. Working with over 400 farmers, the co-op currently consists of 5 core members, with producer Armando Araujo serving as Operational Manager.
