A well known producer-processor from Agaro, Mustafa Abakeno is responsible for founding famed washing stations like the Kata Meduga Co-op. Nowadays he keeps himself busy by managing five washing stations as well as his own 18-hectare farm-station in Beshasha Kebele.

This natural process lot combines cherries from his own high-elevation farm along with 36 neighboring growers, with some trees growing as high as 2,100 meters (!).

The resulting coffee doesn’t provide the jasmine florals for which Ethiopian coffees are known for. Instead, what the cup gives us is plenty of juicy red fruit impressions like strawberries and sweet red pittayas. We’re loving it as both drip and espresso!
